They didn’t want to open at first. They were heavy and clinging to that sweet darkness, that thoughtless state of peace. But awareness came. He felt the metal welded to his neck. He felt the clamps that held him against the soft bed. The smell of sanitization chemicals made his nostrils tingle. Then there was his tail, the limb he’d been missing for so many years, now constantly aching from the vice that held back his strength. His fingers twitched and gripped the sheets. At least he had his hands back for the time being – but what a pathetic comfort it was.
As his eyelids finally lifted slightly, he realized there was a horrible itch in his throat. Opening his eyes a little more, he discovered the tube in his mouth. The damn thing was going straight down his esophagus. Immediately, he sought to remove it, but none of his limbs were available to pull it out.

Goku sat with his legs crossed under him on his chair, snacking on one of the rice bowls Chi-Chi had sent with him. Vegeta had hardly stirred since falling asleep again. It was a dreamless sleep, according to the doctor, too deep for nightmares. It made Goku glad to hear; he doubted his friend could have anything else as long as he was imprisoned here. But that in itself was a troubling thought. He knew that Nevrrest meant to kill Vegeta. But even if he stopped that, what if Vegeta was sentenced to years of imprisonment? He wouldn’t see his baby born. He wouldn’t get to see his son grow up. Bulma’s heart would be broken all over again.
And Vegeta…his mind flashed to that time he’d seen Vegeta in Hell. He remembered the helpless, agonized tears that had run down his friend’s face. Vegeta loved to fight. He loved to push himself and keep g

“Goku,” Oom’Bagu spoke up again as they passed through one of the security gates near the infirmary, “What did you mean by what you said before? Why did you say ‘Nevrrest’?”
“I really should see Vegeta before I say,” Goku answered, weariness and frustration evident all over his face.
Again, Oom’Bagu let it go, returning to silence as they passed through the last of the blast doors, leading Goku to the section of the infirmary where Vegeta was held. Goku cringed and grimaced as they entered a familiar hospital setting, with white walls and doctor tools all over the place. Though he did his best to remain serious, he couldn’t forget how much he hated hospitals. Give him a sensu bean any day. He looked around for Vegeta.

Gohan was surprised when he came home to an empty house. He knew they were going to visit the Briefs while he was spending a few days of quality time with Videl, but he had figured they’d be back by now. It seemed they must have decided to extend the visit. Scratching his head as he checked for a note and finally shrugging, he took to the sky, heading for the city and Capsule Corp. As his boots touched the lawn, he immediately noticed something – it was strangely quiet, especially if his family was around there.
“Mom? Dad? Goten?” Gohan called, his hands on hips as he looked around, gradually walking toward the mansion door, “You guys here?” He paused as he heard the sound of trickling water and turned his head. “Oh, hey there, Mrs. Brief,” he greeted the blonde woman, spotting her watering the plants, “I’m looking for my fam
2. LoveAs Vegeta's feet planted squared down on the tiled floor, his acute sense of another ki present turned his head towards the gravity room's door. Leaning casually against the door frame was his human mate, seemingly content to watch the royal move smoothly through his routine. As if in response to her purposeless nature, the Saiyan straightened his back to menacingly cross his bulky arms over his chest.
"What is it woman? Can you see I'm busy?" A simple shrug of her nearly bare shoulders preceded her reply.
"By all means then...don't let me stop you."
"Like you ever could." Before turning away from her to resume his training, he flashed her a wicked smirk, fully basking in the knowledge of his superior strength. But instead of letting her temper flare, Bulma stood voicelessly statuesque.
Ten more minutes pass as the silent presence began festering in the back of his mind. Unable to fully concentrat
